Cooking Class and Special Events at Celilo for Winter 2017 

We are offering 2 cooking classes with Celilo Chef Ben Stenn this winter.  They are both $85/per class.    Classes begin promptly at 5:30 and last about 3 hours.  We will eat what we prepare during class, afterwards in the dining room.  The restaurant will be closed for service both of these nights.  Classes are limited to 12 people, to ensure intimacy. Please call the restaurant if you are interested in purchasing tickets.

Tuesday, March 7th, 2017 :       Pasta Making 

Chef Stenn will help you demystify the process of making and rolling out fresh pasta dough. Learn the basics of preparing fresh pasta, forming special shapes, stuffing ravioli and pairing them with homemade sauces. There will be a mix of rolling the dough by hand and by machine, with Ben giving you tips for both techniques. You’ll never buy store bought pasta again!

Celilo Restaurant is the recipient of a 2016 Oregon Wine A-List Award Regional Spotlight.

At Celilo, we have over 150 wine selections- either by the glass, 1/2 bottle, regular bottle or magnum.  We are honored to have earned recognition from both the Wine Spectator and the Oregon Wine Board. We are proud to announce that this March we were awarded the Oregon Wine Board’s 2016 Oregon Wine A-List Regional Spotlight Award. Out of 114 restaurants from around the world awarded to the A-List, only 13 receive the special designation of Regional Star for their exemplary commitment to Oregon Wine. Chef Ben Stenn’s mission is to remove any barriers to experiencing great food — food that is delicious, fresh, locally and sustainably grown, and prepared in a way that the quality of the ingredients is fully revealed. Ben believes that the Gorge, as a food producing region, is the source of many of the world’s greatest foods. It is a joy to help people discover these culinary gems, grown so close to home. Cooking classes at the restaurant usually occur in the winter and early spring months, so please check back after summer for the upcoming class schedule.  Classes start promptly at 5:30, last about 3 hours and are limited to 12 people. These cooking classes are not ideal for people with dietary restrictions.  Tickets are $85 and are available by calling the restaurant or stopping by Celilo to purchase.

Wine To Go!

We now have our off premise license so we can sell bottles or cases of wine to go! Have a favorite wine you can’t find or want to start a wine collection? Need some wine for a party, wedding or special gathering? Need some wine advice? We are here for you! Email us at or come by for a visit. If you live in the area and would like to receive our monthly wine offerings through Celilo Specialty Cellar, please email us and we’ll add you to our list. Each month we will offer 7 different wines- including imports, as well as 3 specialty food items for retail purchase.

Private Dinners

Reserve the Restaurant. Celilo is available as a private venue for parties of up to 75 guests. With this option, we will close the entire restaurant to the general public for the day or evening. You will have access to all of Celilo’s amenities, including a four course menu, a full staff of servers and bartenders, our i-pod compatible sound system, tables, chairs, flatware, plateware and glassware. We will be happy to help you make arrangements with florists and musicians to make your special event a truly memorable occasion.

Reserve a Table. Let Celilo help you host a luncheon or dinner party for gatherings of  12 to 20 guests. We will compose a prix fixe menu customized to suit your preferences and/or your dietary needs. Please call and inquire about specific dates, as summer and weekend availability is extremely limited.  We do not have a private dining room, so larger parties will be at tables next to each other in our main dining room.  This option is ideal for business lunches and  mid week and off season dinners. Since we do not have a private dining area, this option is not ideal for rehearsal dinners or wedding parties.

Host a Private Dinner in Your Home. Chef Ben is happy to cater private dinners for parties of at least 8 people, starting at $100 per person. Private cooking classes are a favorite and also available at this price.
